  • Overview

    The primary responsibilities of the Cash Control Specialist are to support the company’s clients with regard to payment activity

    Responsibilities

    Primary job functions

    • Post credit cards, checks, money orders accurately
    • Identify and correctly apply NSFs
    • Balance payments posted in the system with deposits made, per the bank
    • Prepare and submit payment files
    • Provide Finance with total payments and wire amounts
    • Process daily, weekly and monthly invoices for clients

    Secondary job functions

    • Work with Client Services on balance reconciliations
    • Other duties assigned by management
    • Expected to exercise sound, independent judgment and to seek out appropriate direction and information as needed.

    Qualifications

    1. EDUCATION

     

    MUST HAVE:

    • High School diploma or its equivalent

     

    PREFERRED:

    • Associate degree in a business or information technology discipline

     

    1. EXPERIENCE

     

    MUST HAVE:

    • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook

     

    PREFERRED:

    • 0-2 Years of related experience

     

     

     

     

    1. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

     

    MUST BE:

    • Precise and pay strict attention to detail
    • Able to multitask and meet strict deadlines.
    • Able to stay after hours when we have a heavy payment load (usually on Mondays and month end)
    • Organized, with the ability to plan and coordinate daily activities
    • Able to work independently and require minimal supervision
    • Very efficient and work well under pressure
    • Able to portray a professional manner, and perform duties at a professional level with internal and external clients and vendors; maintain confidential information

     

    PREFERRED:

    • Previous payment processing experience

     

    1. PHYSICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    • Hand dexterity
    • Able to talk and hear clearly
    • Occasionally required to stand or walk and life and/or move up to 25 pounds

     

    1. WORK ENVIRONMENT
    • Employee works in an office environment. Employee sits at a desk during regularly scheduled work hours; answers and makes telephone calls using a standard telephone; types on a standard keyboard; reads and comprehends information from a computer terminal and/or written resources.
